NCR, Laguna to be placed on MECQ

The National Capital Region (NCR) and the province of Laguna will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) starting August 21 until August 31, according to a recommendation made by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
In a statement released by presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, Bataan will also be under MECQ starting August 23 until the end of the month.
“These latest classifications are without prejudice to the strict implementation of granular lockdowns,” Roque stated.
NCR, Laguna, and Bataan were put under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) since the beginning of August due to the increasing threat of the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant.
