BPOs can continue WFH scheme til March 2022

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms that are located in economic zones in the Philippines will be allowed to continue with their work-from-home (WFH) arrangements until March next year, said the Department of Finance (DOF).
The DOF stated that this policy was implemented by the Fiscal Incentives Review Board (FIRB) “to address the work constraints” that are brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act, the FIRB has issued Resolution No. 19-21 which enables Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) companies to issue a remote working scheme on 90% of their operations until January 1, 2022.
After January, 75% of business operations can continue under the WFH model until March 31, 2022.
However, the review board added that the 90% ceiling of remote working will be maintained until the end of March if the state of calamity in the country is extended beyond January 1.
The WFH scheme of BPO firms was supposed to end this month, but President Rodrigo Duterte extended the state of calamity in the Philippines until September 2022.
