Portugal ends remote work recommendations, to lift restrictions in October

Portugal will lift its mandatory remote working recommendations in business centers starting October 1.
This move is part of the “third and final phase” of the lockdown easing plan that the country is doing after the strict quarantine protocols implemented at the height of the pandemic.
During a press conference, Prime Minister António Costa said that the country will enter a “phase in which it will no longer be conditioned by restrictions imposed by law,” and will only rely on the responsibility of each person to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Meanwhile, restrictions in establishments throughout the country will also be lifted. Negative RT-PCR tests or digital certificates will no longer be needed in gymnasiums, restaurants, hotels, and tourist accommodations.
The limit for the number of people per group in commercial establishments and events will also be eliminated as well as the limited opening hours of establishments and the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
