PH back to moderate risk as new COVID-19 cases decline

The Philippines is back to a moderate risk classification due to the declining number of COVID-19 cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH) Epidemiology Bureau director Dr. Alethea De Guzman.
During a news conference in Malacañang, Guzman said that the new infections dropped by 4% over the past two weeks, compared to the 27% positive growth three to four weeks ago.
Regions 3, 4A, 7, 8, 10, 11, as well as Metro Manila and BARMM are now put under moderate risk while nine regions in the country remained high-risk areas for COVID-19.
The latest national average daily attack rate is recorded to be at 17.12 cases per 100,000 population for the September 13 to 26 period, decreasing from the previous 17.80 cases for the August 30 to September 12 period.
The Philippines currently has a total of 161,447 active cases as of September 26.
