95% of PH firms plan to strengthen zero trust initiatives – Okta

AroundUp to 95% of organizations in the Philippines are planning to enhance their zero trust initiatives against cybersecurity threats in the year and a half, according to The State of Zero Trust Security In Asia Pacific study conducted by cloud service provider Okta. Currently, only five per cent currently have these initiatives in place.
Okta said that the need for zero-trust security initiatives has become more important with the greater adoption of cloud-based technologies in every industry.
The service provider added that 45% of local companies may struggle with talent or skill shortages while adopting a zero-trust security infrastructure. This is followed by cost concerns in the digital landscape expansion with 30% and technology gaps with 15%.
Okta general manager for Asia-Pacific Graham Sowden said that it is important for businesses to be “vigilant in anticipating new threats” with the new hybrid working model.
