56% of organizations choose to outsource their cybersecurity

About 56% of organizations are now subcontracting a quarter of their cybersecurity staff to outsourcing companies, said research company NewtonX.
According to the study, 80% of the companies who are allocating budgets to their cybersecurity usually prioritize cyber monitoring or operations, endpoint and network security, identity and access management, and app and data protection.
However, 40% of companies still prefer to keep cybersecurity staff in-house and are choosing to upskill their employees.
The study added that the majority of the companies that do outsource their IT staff only work with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) as opposed to third-party staff augmentation.
NewtonX’s research concluded that there are firms that are still not convinced about outsourcing their cybersecurity despite the current shortage of skilled professionals across the globe.
