CyrusOne to outsource its US data center management to JLL

Global colocation provider CyrusOne will outsource the management of its data centers in the United States to real estate services firm JLL starting January 1, 2022.
In the email sent to their customers last week, both companies said that the transition is “centered around our similar cultures fostering collaboration, flexibility, technology, and operational excellence.”
This partnership is expected to be big as CyrusOne data center REIT (real estate investment trust) has about 50 data centers worldwide — 30 data centers of them are in the US — with a market cap of US$9 billion.
Last September, Reuters reported that due to its “sluggish financial performance and heavy management turnover”, CyrusOne is considering putting itself up for sale.
It is expected that outsourcing US facilities’ management is offered as an alternative to selling the company.
