88% of NCR residents fully-vaxxed, MMC to lift curfew starting Nov 4

About 88%, or 8.6 million, of the population in the National Capital Region (NCR) are already fully-vaccinated, prompting the Metro Manila Council (MMC) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to lift its curfew regulations in the region starting November 4.
MMDA Chair Benjamin Abalos Jr. said that this move would reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in mall-goers, especially this Christmas season.
The resolution stated that this would also complement the adjustment in mall hours — extended to 11 pm instead of the usual 10 pm — and give employees enough time to get home.
However, the new policy is subjected to existing ordinances of different local government units and the “continued observance” of health and safety protocols.
Metro Manila was placed under a “standardized and unified curfew” during the pandemic as part of the restrictions placed by the government to arrest the spread of COVID-19.
The country’s capital region is currently at Alert Level 3.
