BPO Council introduces new outsourcing brand

The Business Process Outsourcing Council of Fiji launched its new outsourcing brand called Outsource Fiji, a one-stop-shop website for opportunities in the country.
Officially introduced by Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Outsource Fiji aims to elevate the country’s profile as a preferred destination for outsourcing services and investments.
During the event, Sayed-Khaiyum said that outsourcing could be the future economic driver for Fiji as it could create 100,000 new jobs over the next decade.
To ensure that these new job opportunities would be spread across the country, the acting PM noted that it is critically important that rural areas are given access to affordable technology.
He added that the industry would also need to work with the academe to ensure that Fijians are trained appropriately on certain skill sets needed in outsourcing jobs.
BPO Council President Carol Watkins said that this new brand will help them raise Fiji’s profile in this sector globally and allow them to create awareness about Fiji as a BPO investment destination.
