DBP, CICC collaborate to bolster cyber resiliency

The state-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) signed a memorandum of agreement with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to strengthen its cybersecurity.
Under the partnership, DBP and CICC will work together in “institutionalizing cyber policies” that could protect the bank’s data, endpoints, and critical infrastructures
DBP President and CEO Emmanuel Herbosa said that CICC’s expertise would ensure their “alignment with globally-accepted standards and protocols of the national cybersecurity plan.”
The agreement would also include monitoring the bank’s compliance to mitigate threats in cyberspace.
DBP is the fifth-largest bank in the Philippines in terms of assets. It provides credit support to four strategic sectors of the economy – infrastructure and logistics; micro, small and medium enterprises; environment; social services, and community development.
CICC is an agency under the Department of Information and Communications Technology. It oversees the national cybersecurity plan, the establishment of the national computer emergency response team, and the facilitation of international cooperation on intelligence regarding cybersecurity matters.
