Cebu City EOC recommends back-to-office guidelines

The Cebu City Emergency Operations Center or EOC created a set of guidelines to prepare Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) employees in their return to on-site work.
Presented to Mayor Michael Rama and several outsourcing firms in Cebu City’s major economic zones, the EOC suggested implementing a flexible working model, retaining social distancing rules and minimum public health standards compliance, and designating Health Infection and Prevention Control Officers (HIPCO) per office.
The organization also said that companies should have proper ventilation in their office spaces, proper cleaning and disinfection processes, mask mandates, and regulation on using the pantry and mess halls.
Moreover, the organization recommended that employees with suspected COVID-19 cases should be given COVID-19 tests and be out to quarantine immediately.
Isolation must also be done for people who had contact with positive cases, or any employee that had been exposed to a high-risk situation.
COVID-positive employees should also be given the option of working from home during isolation
Despite all of these preparations, the Cebu City EOC still supports the call for extension of the work-from-home scheme till September 2022.
