10 huge BPO firms in Iloilo Ready to get back on-site

About 10 huge Information Technology-Business Process Management (IT-BPM) companies with around 13,000 workforce in Iloilo are ready to get back to their offices starting April.
In an interview, Iloilo Federation for Information Technology (IFIT) Executive Director Joeven Tansi said that these firms have “already started to pull out logistics for those in work-from-home (WFH) arrangements and return them tentatively on-site.”
Tansi disclosed that health protocols — such as proper screening of workers before entering the office — are still in place.
Other firms had also retained their acrylic barriers even though the local government had already allowed for it to be taken out.
Iloilo has around 97 IT-BPM firms. As of Q4 2021, there are about 36,000 recorded employees in the sector.
Tansi noted that they are not against WFH arrangements, but the internet connectivity has always been a challenge for remote employees.
“Much as we want the work from home for the sake of their families, yet, we are concerned about their delivery of service. If they could find alternative ways, then there [would be no] problem, although the government is pushing us to work on-site,” he said.
