Employee experience should be prioritized to push on-site return — Colliers PH

Property research firm Colliers International Philippines is advising office space lessors to consider focusing on creating an environment that enhances employee experience to encourage people to go back to their offices.
In their latest market outlook, Colliers said that promoting the building’s health and safety measures could make workers confident that their overall wellness is the top priority of their employers.
Office landlords are also urged to assist in renovations that maintain the approved social distancing regulations, as well as providing fitted office spaces that can handle the inflow of employees.
Moreover, leasing out vacant spaces for short periods and providing incentives — such as reduced rates — to returning tenants could increase leasing contracts for nearly-vacant buildings.
Colliers said that “these are just some creative ways landlords can help jumpstart recovery.”
This statement comes after the Fiscal Incentives Review Board (FIRB) ordered Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) firms who are located in economic zones to go back to their offices on April 1.
Although the property research firm agrees with the remote work extension, Colliers stated that the impending return of BPO employees to their offices could help other supporting industries thrive and recover.
