Foreign BPO firms thrive Fiji’s outsourcing market

Four foreign companies that joined Fiji’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) market in 2021 have experienced growth in the country despite the pandemic. One of these companies is the recently launched Bula Outsourcing.
In his speech at Bula’s launch, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said that the executives and staff of the firm have managed to expand its workforce from the original 10 employees to its headcount of 70 people.
The PM stated, “Bula Outsourcing began its operations during the pandemic, which surely demonstrates its confidence in Fiji – in our world-class ICT infrastructure, our policies, our competitive business costs, our people and – of course – our attractive tax incentives.”
He added that the government “[aims] to create an identity for Fiji as a preferred destination for businesses to outsource their services.”
Fiji provided an annual marketing grant of $200,000 to the BPO Council to promote the country as an ideal outsourcing destination. They also plan to continue providing “attractive” tax incentives for the industry as well as support the development of dedicated IT and BPO parks.
Bainimarama added that they are expecting more companies to expand in the country as the news of their “high-quality and efficient work” spreads across the world.
