SLASSCOM, STEMUP signs MOU to produce top IT-BPM talents

Sri Lanka’s national chamber for the IT-BPM industry SLASSCOM recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the STEMUp Educational Foundation to generate the top IT-BPM talents in the country.
The partnership aims to help fresh graduates and skilled professionals apply for internship opportunities within organizations in the sector.
SLASSCOM Director Shehani Seneviratne said that “participating in internships can be a great way to get a taste of the actual professional experience in a particular field.”
“Besides creating a relationship with a potential employer and enhancing a resume, internships have other advantages, such as the opportunity to learn important soft skills that are essential for success in the workplace,” she added.
SLASSCOM will utlize STEMUp’s internship portal CareerLink to connect Jamaican talents with employers locally and globally.
STEMUp Director Shameera Prajapriya, for their part, added that the foundation “intend to offer the maximum benefits to graduates and students through this portal, so that they will gain the entire spectrum of soft skills and hands-on experience that will make them valuable assets to any employer.”
