Digify Africa, Stanlib, IDC partner in upskilling South African youth

Youth-led organization Digify Africa is set to partner with financial services provider Stanlib and the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) in creating a digital skills program for young professionals in Northern Cape, South Africa.
Called the Digify general practitioners (GPs) program, this will be a free learning opportunity for interested individuals aged 18 to 35 years old.
In a statement, Digify Africa said that the GPs will be given free digital marketing training — specifically in social media management and digital strategy — for over 10 weeks to youth in the Ga-Segonyana and Sol Plaatje municipalities.
The organization added that this move aims to address the digital skills gap in the country, especially now that they are entering the fourth industrial revolution.
After graduating from the programme, the Digify-certified participants will go through a one-year support programme to help them thrive in the workplace and link them to work or business opportunities
Applications for the Digify GPs program are now ongoing and will close on May 13. Training will take place from June 20 to August 26.
