Ayala looking to expand BPO, hospital, real estate services in Iloilo

Philippine-based conglomerate Ayala Corporation is eyeing an expansion of its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) segment in Iloilo City.
According to Iloilo Mayor Jerry Treñas, the company is interested in investing in the area due to its low electricity rates and “booming BPO industry.”
Currently, Iloilo has over 36,000 regular employees in the BPO sector apart from part-time workers.
Aside from BPO services, Ayala is also planning to launch a state-of-the-art Qualimed Hospital in the city that offers in vitro fertilization (IVF) by September or October this year.
Further, the corporation is also looking to sign more real estate deals in the province.
Treñas stated that one of the advantages of investing in Iloilo is the fast processing of business permits, building, and other related documents following the Office of Building Official’s separation from the City Engineer’s Office.
The Mayor added that more investments would help Iloilo recover from the lingering economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
