Great resignation to continue over the next 12 months – PwC

PwC’s Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2022 report shows that the great resignation will continue over the next 12 months.
In the study, one in five respondents said they are likely to switch jobs in the next year – with the biggest motivator for a job change being a bigger paycheque.
Additionally, the survey found that 35% of people plan to ask their employer for a salary raise over the next year. The highest pressure on pay is in the tech sector, where 44% of workers surveyed plan to ask for a raise and plan to quit if they don’t get it. Salary pressure in the public sector is the lowest (25%).
Remote work was also the priority, with 47% saying they are willing to quit because their job doesn’t allow the flexibility to choose where they work.
PwC Global Chairman Bob Moritz said that resignations are linked to the need to acquire new skills and gain control over their jobs.
He added that “leaders have to adapt to build the teams needed to successfully deal with the challenges and opportunities of today and those yet to come.”
PwC’s study was conducted with 52 195 employees from 44 countries and territories.
