USAID, Palo Alto Networks sign MOU boosting PH cybersecurity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and global cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to help strengthen cybersecurity in the Philippines.
According to officials from Palo Alto Networks, the alliance is expected to boost e-commerce and other digital services in the country by increasing customer confidence.
Both organizations are hoping to achieve their goal by increasing customer confidence through awareness and promotion of safe computing practices, as well as the adoption of international standards.
Palo Alto said that they would work with USAID to develop programs and activities and provide technical assistance and expert advisory to help realize the vision.
The firm added that they are envisioning an efficient, robust, and secure digital ecosystem to support the country’s digital transformation in the future.
USAID Better Access and Connectivity Project Chief John Garrity, for his part, explained that the MOU focuses on the “capacity development side and individual levels” in the Philippine cybersecurity space.
