PH contact center industry sees shift to hybrid work

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) says that the current 60% onsite, 40% work-from-home (WFH) ratio in the local outsourcing industry will eventually balance out.
Noting that “the future is hybrid work”, CCAP board member Tonichi Achurra-Parekh said that Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies are shifting their operations towards hybrid models.
In September 2022, the Philippine government allowed registered IT and business process outsourcing firms to establish 100% remote work setups while still enjoying fiscal incentives.
Achurra-Parekh added the association is expecting continued growth in 2023 despite tech layoffs and soaring inflation worldwide.
“With the challenges that the global economy is experiencing, (clients) have really nowhere else to go but in the Philippines. And I think it really now is on us to make sure that the supply will be available,” Achurra-Parekh added.
