Jamaica’s BPOs preparing for impact of AI

MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA — Players in Jamaica’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry are preparing for the impact of the advanced usage of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ) President Gloria Henry, Jamaica’s outsourcing sector does not fear AI. Instead, the country is “preparing for its impact and the opportunities that we can exploit.”
Henry also noted that the technology is not new and has been used to manage large workforces and deploy resources to align their needs.
She added that AI, machine learning, and other intelligent and enabling technologies would only augment Jamaica’s transformation services and boost the country as a preferred outsourcing destination.
Henry’s declaration comes two weeks before the GSAJ’s Outsourcing2Jamaica conference. Several local and international outsourcing experts are expected to attend the event.
