Meta secures patent for AI-generated ads

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Social media giant Meta recently secured a patent for AI-generated advertisements that is expected to boost the company’s revenue.
The patent covers altering and creating new or “enhanced” ad content through generative AI. It also includes methods for AI to measure, analyze, and predict how well such ads or “content” performs and adjust content based on the results.
This renewed area of interest and investment comes from CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who has been speaking more about the use of generative AI.
Meta’s advertising business has been recovering from a multi-billion dollar hit due to Apple’s privacy changes in 2021.
Enabling AI to target, review, create, and optimize ad content for a small group of users could entice advertisers and boost Meta’s bottom line.
Wall Street expects a return to double-digit percentage growth in revenue, a level of development Meta has not seen for two years.
