India’s WCD Ministry to outsource 10K vacant roles

INDORE, INDIA — The Ministry of Women & Child Development (WCD) in India signed an agreement with outsourcing firm T and M Services Consulting to outsource to fill around 10,000 vacant positions in its Indore office.
According to WCD Joint Director Ramniwas Budholiya, the shortage of employees hindered the progress of the WCD’s Poshan Abhiyan initiative, which focuses on improving nutrition and maternal and child health outcomes.
With the outsourcing of around 3,500 employees in the district, the department expects to meet its targets within the specified deadlines.
The directorate also issued guidelines for the outsourced employees, stating that they will be entitled to 15 days of leave per year in addition to government-declared holidays. Approval for leave must be obtained from the designated officer.
Furthermore, the letter issued by WCD’s Additional Director Rajpal Kaur emphasizes the importance of field visits by district-level officers and project officers, who should include the outsourced staff involved in the nutrition campaign.
This measure aims to provide on-site guidance and closely monitor the programs implemented under the nutrition campaign.
