The Purple Guys acquires Advantex, Herrod Technology

LOUISIANA, UNITED STATES — The Purple Guys, a managed information technology (IT) services provider for small- to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), has announced the acquisition of two Texas-based IT managed service providers, Advantex and Herrod Technology.
These strategic purchases expand the company’s reach in key Texas markets, including a new entry into the Houston area and an enhanced presence in the Dallas metroplex.
Founded in 2002, Advantex offers scalable and integrated technology solutions and network management services, primarily serving clients in Houston and Dallas. Herrod Technology has over two decades of experience, specializing in tailored managed IT services and technology solutions for its long-standing client base in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.
“Our acquisition strategy follows a two-pronged approach: building scale and density within our core geographies and adding vertical and technical expertise to better serve our growing customer base,” said The Purple Guys CEO Kevin Cook.
These acquisitions mark the seventh and eighth since The Purple Guys partnered with Kian Capital and ParkSouth Ventures in January 2020. The moves align with the company’s strategy to become an industry-leading IT services provider for SMBs, focusing on organic growth and strategic acquisitions primarily in the central United States.
“We are very intentional about where we plant our next flag, and we feel strongly that market density is the best way to provide superior service to our clients and expanded opportunities to our team,” Cook added.
The Purple Guys has less than $1 million in revenue, according to Crunchbase. The company serves businesses throughout the Central and Southern U.S.
