Malaysia’s tech recruitment up 3% in August

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — Malaysia’s tech industry saw a three per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth in August, particularly in software, hardware, and telecom roles, underscoring the nation’s robust digital transition efforts.
According to talent platform foundit, this growth reflects the ongoing digitization efforts across industries, demanding professionals with technology expertise to drive innovation and efficiency.
Overall job opportunities in Malaysia also showed a positive resurgence with a robust seven per cent YoY growth across various industries.
Sales and business development roles recorded an impressive 34% YoY growth, signifying a proactive approach by businesses to expand their market presence and seize emerging opportunities.
Malaysia’s hospitality & travel sector surged with an extraordinary 133% YoY growth, while the retail sector witnessed a remarkable 63% growth.
Meanwhile, the logistics sector saw increased demand in Malaysia (25%) due to significant e-commerce growth.
