NTT consolidates global IT services under NTT DATA

TOKYO, JAPAN — Global technology and business solutions provider NTT has fully transitioned its worldwide IT services business under the NTT DATA brand through a major restructuring this year.
NTT DATA started in 1967 as NTT’s internal data communications division. It spun off in 1988 as NTT DATA Communications Systems and rapidly expanded into Japan’s top IT services provider.
In 2022, NTT DATA combined with NTT’s international IT operations to form NTT DATA, Inc. This consolidated NTT’s global IT services under the NTT DATA brand.
In July 2023, NTT adopted a holding company structure with NTT DATA Group Corporation as the global parent and NTT DATA Japan and NTT DATA, Inc. as the domestic and international businesses.
With this move, NTT DATA completely replaced NTT as the brand for IT services worldwide. The restructuring aims to enhance NTT’s global delivery capabilities and collaboration.
NTT DATA offers consulting, cloud, applications, infrastructure, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). It has over $20 billion in annual revenue across more than 50 countries.
The full adoption of NTT DATA for all NTT IT services represents a major milestone in NTT DATA’s evolution into a leading global IT services provider.
