Adecco expands inclusion pledge; to hire 85,000 refugees by 2027

Adecco expands inclusion pledge

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND — Workforce solutions firm Adecco renewed its commitment to integrate 85,000 refugees into the workforce by 2027.

This latest target builds on their previous pledge during the Tent European Business Summit last June 2023 to hire 50,000 displaced people over the next three years.

To aid their goals, the firm is launching a Jobs for Refugees site to match talent with opportunities based on skills.

Adecco President Christophe Catoir emphasizes that they “strongly believe that work is not just a source of income, but a first, important step for rebuilding a life, integrating in a new country and finding a place in society again.”

“Moreover, for companies, embracing diversity by employing refugees brings unique perspectives, strong loyalty, and much-needed skills to the workforce. This not only fosters a more inclusive workplace culture but also contributes to the overall success of a company,” he added.

The initiative aligns with national programs like Germany’s “Job Turbo for the Integration of Refugees into the Labour Market,” which has a target of employing at least 10,000 refugees by late 2025. Adecco Germany is working with cosmetic firm L’Oréal to achieve this goal.

Adecco also co-organized the Refugees are Talent Forum in 2021 to address the precarious situation in Afghanistan before launching the Jobs for Ukraine solidarity platform in 2022.

With a presence across 60 countries, the Adecco Group is striving to reframe perceptions of displaced people as invaluable contributors. Their renewed pledge represents the next ambitious step on an inclusion journey that began in 2008.

Outsourcing giants Accenture and Teleperformance are among the companies that pledged to hire and train Ukrainian refugees and other displaced individuals in Europe during the Tent European Business Summit 2023.
