Dedicare shakes up Swedish leadership, cuts costs

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — Dedicare, a Nordic staffing provider in healthcare, life science, and social work, announced management changes and cost-cutting measures for its Swedish operations.
Dedicare appoints Kristiansen as interim CEO for Sweden
Eva Brunnberg, CEO of Dedicare Sweden, will be leaving the company at her own request. Bård Kristiansen, the current CEO of Dedicare Norway since 2017, will take over as interim CEO for Dedicare Sweden. Kristiansen will continue leading the Norwegian operations, while Lene Langås, an operational manager within nurse staffing since 2013, will serve as interim operational manager for Norway.
Krister Widström, Dedicare’s Group CEO, expressed gratitude to Brunnberg, saying, “I want to thank Eva for her great commitment, hard work, and good cooperation during a challenging period in Sweden.”
He praised Kristiansen’s successful track record in Norway, where “turnover has more than quadrupled under his leadership, with significantly increased profitability, while simultaneously meeting the qualitative goals.”
Cost-saving program of Dedicare
Dedicare also announced a cost-saving program that is expected to generate annual savings of approximately SEK 15 million ($1.4 million), with full effect from the fourth quarter of 2024.
The measures aim to streamline operations and enable continued investments in markets and segments with strong demand amidst current market conditions within Swedish healthcare staffing and increased competition in Norway.
Despite the challenges, Dedicare’s long-term strategy and financial goals of achieving annual revenue growth of at least 10% with an EBITA margin exceeding 7.0% over time remains.
Dedicare also operates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. For the first quarter of 2024, the group reported revenue of SEK 430.2 million ($40 million), down 14.5% year-over-year. This was impacted by limits on contracting staff in Sweden and competition from new Nordic players in Norway.
