NICE CEO Barak Eilam stepping down

NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES — Cloud software solutions NICE announced that CEO Barak Eilam will step down from his role, effective December 31, 2024.
Eilam, who has led the company for over a decade, will assist in the search for his successor and continue to support the company in a strategic consulting capacity during the first half of 2025.
Under Eilam’s tenure, NICE transformed from a workforce optimization software company into a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered customer experience solutions. The company’s total addressable market expanded fivefold, total revenue tripled to over $2 billion, and cloud revenue rapidly grew from near zero to $1.6 billion.
“The Board extends its gratitude for the remarkable achievements NICE has accomplished under Barak’s ten-year leadership,” said David Kostman, Chairman of the Board at NICE.
“The company is well positioned for the future as a leader in cloud, digital and AI. We deeply appreciate Barak’s unwavering commitment to NICE and look forward to continuing our work with him toward executing our 2024 plan, setting the company up for future success, and collaborating with him throughout the CEO search to ensure a smooth leadership handover.”
Future prospects and transition in NICE
NICE has already initiated a search for Eilam’s successor in partnership with a top executive recruiting firm, considering both internal and external candidates. Eilam’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition includes working closely with the Board and the new CEO.
“Leading NICE for the past decade has been the pinnacle of my career… While my team and NICE’s mission continues to inspire me daily, after 25 years at NICE and with the company poised for continued leadership and success, it’s the right time to transition the helm of the company to a new leader” said Barak Eilam, CEO, NICE.
“I remain laser focused to deliver our 2024 plan, support the success of our customers and partners and work closely with our product teams on our exciting innovations. NICE has a bright future ahead, and I’m committed to ensuring a seamless transition.”
NICE’s AI and cloud innovation
Eilam’s departure comes at a time when NICE is poised for continued growth, particularly in AI-driven solutions. Recent innovations include the launch of Enlighten AI and CXone, which have cemented NICE’s leadership in the Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) space.
Its flagship CXone platform is one of the world’s largest cloud customer experience solutions, with over 1 million users. Gartner recently named the company the “Customers’ Choice” CCaaS provider.
Over 25,000 organizations in more than 150 countries, including over 85 of the Fortune 100 companies, rely on NICE’s technology to enhance customer interactions.
