Comms Group’s new VoIP license to boost Philippine BPO market

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Australian IT and communications services provider Comms Group Limited has successfully secured a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Reseller license from the Philippines’ National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
This strategic move enables Comms Group Global to procure and resell wholesale and business VoIP-based telecommunications services in the Philippines, leveraging its extensive global network and local partnerships.
Enhancing unified communications for enterprises
The services provided under this license include Unified Communications (Microsoft Teams Calling, Cloud/Hosted PBX), SIP trunking, CTS, and the resale of Direct Inward Dialing (DIDs). These services will cater to wholesale, enterprise, and multinational customers both within the Philippines and globally.
Comms Group CEO and Managing Director Peter McGrath, expressed his enthusiasm for this license, stating, “We are delighted to have been issued with a telecommunications license from the Philippines NTC to deliver the very best telecommunications experience to domestic and global wholesale customers and businesses.”
“These latest generation unified communications and VoIP services will benefit businesses and the economy in the Philippines and assist the Philippines BPO market to remain globally competitive,” he added.
Strengthening the Philippine BPO sector
The acquisition of this license is particularly significant for the Philippines’ Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector. Comms Group’s advanced VoIP services are expected to enhance the operational efficiency and global competitiveness of BPO companies in the Philippines.
This development aligns with the Philippines’ broader strategic goals of bolstering its digital economy and attracting more foreign investment.
Strategic partnerships and expansion across Asia Pacific
Comms Group Philippines Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, will leverage Comms Group’s global network coverage and capabilities, working closely with local partners to deliver these services. The services may be branded under Comms Group or resold globally by wholesale customers under their own brands.
Australian Ambassador to the Philippines, HK Yu PSM, highlighted the significance of this investment: “I’m very pleased to see Australian firms actively pursuing the huge opportunities in the Philippines’ digital economy. This investment of Comms Group aligns with the Philippines-Australia Strategic Partnership and Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to promote more robust two-way trade and investment between our countries.”
The Philippines is a key market for Comms Group as it continues to expand its network of licenses across the Asia-Pacific region. Comms Group is already licensed to provide VoIP services in several countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Taiwan (in progress).
Additionally, the company has partnership arrangements in place for China, Thailand, Vietnam, and South Korea.
This strategic expansion underscores Comms Group’s commitment to enhancing telecommunications infrastructure and services across the region, thereby supporting the growth and competitiveness of the BPO sector in the Philippines and beyond.
