Accenture boosts chip design with Excelmax acquisition

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES and BENGALURU, INDIA — Outsourcing giant Accenture has announced the acquisition of Excelmax Technologies, a semiconductor design services provider based in Bengaluru, India.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Enhancing expertise in silicon solutions
Excelmax Technologies, founded in 2019, specializes in custom silicon solutions for consumer devices, data centers, and AI applications. The company’s expertise spans high-level design to detailed physical layout and full turnkey execution, serving clients in the automotive, telecommunications, and high-tech sectors.
With this acquisition, Accenture gained approximately 450 professionals skilled in key areas such as emulation, automotive, physical design, analog, logic design, and verification. This expansion significantly enhances Accenture’s ability to support global clients in accelerating edge computing innovation.

Meeting growing silicon design market demands
The semiconductor market is witnessing increased demand for silicon design engineering, driven by the proliferation of data centers and the growing use of AI and edge computing.
This trend is further fueled by a rising consumer appetite for electronics, spurring new investments in chip design.
