Capgemini and SAP join forces to enhance AI-driven business processes

PARIS, FRANCE — Global technology services giant Capgemini and SAP have announced an expansion of their partnership, aimed at harnessing the power of generative AI to transform key business processes.
It is set to redefine how organizations approach HR, sales, procurement, and sustainability challenges in an increasingly AI-driven world.
The extended partnership will see Capgemini enhancing its Global SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) to focus on three key areas: augmenting business processes with AI, speeding up go-to-market strategies, and upskilling its workforce.
Capgemini plans to upskill 20,000 employees by the first half of 2025 to strengthen their expertise in SAP’s generative AI tools and methods.
Combining strengths for innovative solutions
The collaboration brings together Capgemini’s expertise in data and AI and its experience in large-scale SAP transformations with SAP’s Business AI portfolio, built on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
“This expanded partnership with SAP will help clients efficiently adapt their business processes, setting them up for success in the short- and long-term,” said Narayanan Balasubramaniam, Global Head of Enterprise Package Based Solutions at Capgemini.
“With over four decades of experience in delivering value with SAP, and our proven leadership in data and AI, organizations can rely on our expert teams to unlock the full potential of generative AI and transform their core business functions.”
Real-world applications and results
The collaboration is already yielding results, with projects underway to help grocers reduce food waste, transform direct sourcing for automobile manufacturers, and boost sales in the semiconductor industry through scanning complex technical documents to offer the best proposals to clients.
Philipp Herzig, Chief AI Officer at SAP SE, commented: “We highly appreciate Capgemini’s dedication to SAP Business AI. Together, we will keep enhancing business applications and processes, based on SAP Business Technology Platform and our AI Services, to suit our clients’ needs.”
Capgemini, with its 340,000 team members in more than 50 countries, reported global revenues of €22.5 billion (US$24 billion) in 2023. The company’s expertise in AI, cloud, and data, combined with its industry knowledge, positions it as a leader in the intelligent industry field.
