Cognizant expands operations in Hyderabad with new facility

HYDERABAD, INDIA — Global IT services and consulting provider Cognizant has announced plans to establish a new facility in Hyderabad, India, as part of an expansion initiative.
This was announced after a major deal that the Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy concluded with the firm during his visit to the United States.
New facility to create thousands of jobs
Cognizant’s new Hyderabad facility is expected to create 15,000 new jobs as it spans over one million square feet.
This center will be centered on such advanced technologies as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, digital engineering and cloud solutions.
This development highlights Cognizant’s intention of using Hyderabad’s rich talent pool and strong infrastructure for supporting its worldwide businesses.
Hyderabad’s position as a major player in the global technology landscape will be further cemented by this expansion which can house about 20,000 employees.
Hyderabad as a technology and innovation hub
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed the expansion, emphasizing his government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for IT and business services.
“Expansion of Cognizant’s operations in Hyderabad is a testament of the confidence in the city’s growing reputation as a global destination for technology companies,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Cognizant CEO S. Ravi Kumar said that they were excited to expand their presence in Hyderabad, “a city that continues to demonstrate its strengths as a technology and innovation hub.”
