EarthLink opens new call center in Virginia

ATLANTA, UNITED STATES — Internet service provider EarthLink recently opened a new call center in Norton, Virginia.
This development marks a significant advancement in EarthLink’s strategy to enhance customer support and expand its operations within the United States.
The new facility is located at 500 Progress Way NE in the Project Intersection development area, offering a scenic view of the Jefferson National Forest.
Job creation and economic impact in Southwest Virginia
The 28,000-square-foot call center is set to create up to 285 new jobs, underscoring EarthLink’s dedication to local economic growth and exceptional customer service.
“We are excited to open our doors in Norton and start a new chapter at Project Intersection,” stated Glenn Goad, CEO of EarthLink. He emphasized that the facility is not just a call center but a forward-thinking investment in both the community and the company.
Technological advancements and strategic location
Project Intersection will serve as EarthLink’s only U.S. sales center, utilizing advanced AI and proprietary technologies to enhance consumer experiences.
“The combination of our technology and a high-quality workforce in Southwest Virginia will provide a consumer experience unmatched in our industry,” Goad added.
Delegate Terry Kilgore, R-Scott County, who played a crucial role in bringing the call center to Virginia, stated that “EarthLink’s expansion into Southwest Virginia is a true testament to all that Southwest Virginia has to offer – a high-quality workforce and endless opportunities for expansion.”

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin also praised the project, noting that EarthLink’s decision to expand into Norton reaffirms Virginia’s status as a top state for business.

The new call center represents a significant upgrade from EarthLink’s temporary space in the Lonesome Pine Industrial Park.
