Cognizant expands operations in India with first center in Indore

INDORE, INDIA — Global IT services firm Cognizant has expanded its Indian operations by inaugurating its first center in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The inauguration was led by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the 46,000-square-foot facility.
The launch of this new center underscores Cognizant’s commitment to expanding its footprint in India while nurturing local talent and contributing to regional economic growth.
Expanding local impact and job creation
The new center, situated at Brilliant Titanium in central Indore, will initially offer over 1,500 jobs with the potential to expand to 20,000 roles. This expansion aims to tap into Indore’s skilled workforce and contribute to the region’s economic development.
Surya Gummadi, EVP of Cognizant and President of Cognizant Americas, attended the inauguration and commented, “Indore will seamlessly integrate into our existing delivery network across India, focus on innovative solutions for our global clients, create new opportunities for local talent, and bring our offices closer to where our associates live.”
State-of-the-art facility designed for innovation and collaboration
The facility can accommodate 500 individuals on-site and up to 1,250 associates in a hybrid work model.
The center features collaborative spaces, a 110-seat cafeteria, wellness areas, and a dedicated space for expectant mothers. It also incorporates local artisanal artworks and traditional motifs, reflecting Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage.

Cognizant’s growing presence in India
Cognizant operates across several Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mumbai, supporting its mission to deliver innovative solutions and generate employment.
The company also recently established a new facility in Hyderabad after a major deal that the Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy concluded with the firm during his visit to the United States.
The facility, which spans over one million square feet, is expected to create 15,000 new jobs. It will be centered on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, digital engineering, and cloud solutions.
