MANILA, PHILIPPINES and MUMBAI, INDIA — Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) signed a two-year partnership with Golden Arches Development Corporation, the master franchise holder of McDonald’s in the Philippines, to modernize the IT landscape for more than 760 McDonald’s restaurants in the country.

This marks TCS’s first engagement with McDonald’s in the Asia-Pacific region, signaling a significant expansion of its presence in the fast-food industry. The partnership aims to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience through innovative technology solutions.

Cloud migration and SAP S/4HANA implementation

As part of the agreement, TCS will transform GADC’s existing systems by migrating them to the cloud and deploying SAP S/4HANA on RISE. This standardization and digitization of operations will provide better insights, improve decision-making, and optimize performance across the fast-food chain.

“This partnership with TCS is another step in our continuous digital transformation,” Margot Torres, Managing Director at GADC, commented. “The implementation of SAP S/4HANA on RISE will provide us greater agility through data-driven insights, enabling us to continuously improve our customer and employee experience.”

Benefits and future-proofing for McDonald’s Philippines

The IT modernization project is expected to bring several benefits to GADC, including:

  • Efficiency and optimized operation costs with higher productivity
  • Increased stakeholder loyalty by enhancing the franchisee experience
  • Optimization of processes and improved employee productivity

TCS will also future-proof GADC’s processes to support its growth agenda. The company will offer SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for development and integration services, encompassing app development, automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Strengthening TCS’ presence in the Philippines

This partnership underscores TCS’ growing presence in the Philippines, where the company has been operational since 2008. With over 5,000 employees in the country, TCS provides IT services across sectors such as telecommunications, banking, and real estate.

“We are pleased to partner with GADC on this significant engagement that marks an important step for TCS Philippines as we expand our presence in the region’s fast-food industry,” said Shiju Varghese, Country Head of TCS Philippines.

“By leveraging the advanced capabilities of SAP S/4HANA and the innovative potential of SAP BTP, we aim to enhance McDonald’s operational efficiency and customer experience for business innovation and excellence.”

TCS has been recognized as the Top Employer in the Philippines from 2017 to 2024, demonstrating its commitment to the region. The company recently inaugurated its TCS Pace Studio in Bonifacio Global City, Manila, designed to accelerate digital innovation in the Asia-Pacific region in collaboration with customers.

TCS ranked #45 on the OA500 2024, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing firms. The latest index places the company five places higher than last year when it ranked 50th. It generated revenues of $29 billion in fiscal year 2024.
