Accenture invests in OPAQUE to boost confidential AI solutions

NEW YORK and CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Accenture, a professional services company, has made an investment in OPAQUE, a company that provides confidential AI intelligence. This partnership is significant for Accenture as it works to improve the usage of AI by making sure that sensitive data is secure.
Enhancing enterprise data security
The investment, made through Accenture Ventures, is expected to incorporate OPAQUE’s technology into Accenture’s AI Refinery and Trusted Data Services to achieve better compliance and security without jeopardizing data value.
“OPAQUE is unlocking the power of data that has been locked away for too long. Enterprises can finally move fast without breaking security,” said Aaron Fulkerson, CEO of OPAQUE.
“As a leader in enterprise AI deployments, Accenture understands this better than anyone and is at the forefront of the charge to bring AI to enterprises safely and effectively.”
Meeting critical business needs
The new venture of Accenture is in sync with the research done by the company, where 97% of the 2,300 business leaders surveyed deemed generative AI to be a game changer and a good investment. However, almost half of them said they had limited high-quality data to support their AI initiatives.
The collaboration between Accenture and OPAQUE will allow organizations to use their sensitive data for AI-based analysis and thus develop better customer insights and operational performance without putting the security at risk.
“OPAQUE’s confidential AI platform helps businesses deploy AI agents that operate within confidential environments while maintaining data integrity and compliance,” said Teresa Tung, Accenture’s global lead of Data Capability.
“It’s about building trust with customers and unlocking a new era where AI can operate at scale, securely and responsibly.”
OPAQUE’s confidential AI platform lets organizations execute their AI tasks with encrypted data, with a focus on privacy, sovereignty, and compliance.
Accelerating innovation through Project Spotlight
This collaboration is in line with Accenture’s mission for responsible AI innovation and the focus on privacy and trust in the deployment of AI solutions. In addition, OPAQUE will be part of Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight to engage with Accenture’s knowledge and its enterprise clients to develop breakthroughs in data and AI solutions.
Accenture has about 799,000 employees who help clients in more than 120 countries. The company posted healthy results in the first quarter of fiscal 2025, reporting $17.7 billion in revenues, 9 percent growth in U.S. dollars, and 8 percent growth in local currencies compared with the same period last year.
After two consecutive years in the top spot, the global professional services company ranked #2 in OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s 500 top outsourcing companies.
