CGI to acquire French digital services firm Apside

PARIS, FRANCE — CGI, a global IT and business consulting services provider, announced its exclusivity agreement to acquire Apside, a digital and engineering services firm based in France.
Strategic expansion across Europe
The deal, facilitated by signatures from Apside’s primary shareholders, including Siparex and the investment arms of Crédit Agricole Group, aims to expand CGI’s footprint and service offerings across Europe.
This merger is expected to be finalized in June 2025, following regulatory approvals and consultation processes, bringing over 2,500 Apside professionals into CGI’s team.
Both companies, founded in the same year, share a commitment to operational excellence and client proximity, promising a seamless integration.
“The combination of CGI and Apside would contribute strongly to the expansion of CGI in France and would significantly strengthen our capabilities, particularly across manufacturing and financial services,” said Caroline de Grandmaison, President of CGI’s France and Luxembourg operations.
“Together, we will strengthen our ability to support clients in achieving their tangible business outcomes. This merger would also enable us to expand our portfolio of end-to-end services by integrating engineering services.”
Apside, known for its expertise in manufacturing, financial services, and public sector support, operates from 28 offices in six countries, including France, Canada, Portugal, Belgium, Morocco, and Switzerland.
Mutual benefits and forward outlook
Valérie Lafdal, President of Apside, highlighted the mutual benefits of the merger, stating, “I am convinced that both Apside teams and our clients would benefit from this merger, not only because of their shared values but also because CGI’s end-to-end service offerings could accelerate the success of their digital transformations.”
Founded in 1976, CGI is one of the independent IT and business consulting services firms globally, boasting 91,000 professionals and a fiscal 2024 revenue of CA$14.68 billion. It is ranked #4 in the recently launched OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
The acquisition follows CGI’s recent deal with Novatec, a digital services company operating in Germany and Spain. CGI and Tribun Health have also secured a significant contract in Denmark’s Region Nordjylland.
