Fiji’s BPO sector expands, aims to employ 25,000 by 2030

SUVA, FIJI and LAS VEGAS, UNITED STATES — Fiji is rapidly emerging as a global hub for business process outsourcing (BPO), leveraging its 96% literacy rate, English fluency, and young workforce to attract international investors.
Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica emphasized business potential in BPO while reporting the present workforce of 8,000 during a virtual briefing with the goal of growing numbers in upcoming years.
Meanwhile, at LeadsCon 2025 in Las Vegas, the outsourcing industry of Fiji presents its workforce and strategic benefits to show itself as a compelling offshore solution for U.S. companies.
Fiji’s BPO sector drives economic growth and job creation
The government aims to scale up its workforce to 25,000 over the next five to ten years, positioning BPO as a “game-changing industry” that diversifies Fiji’s economy beyond tourism and agriculture while generating vital foreign exchange.
The sector’s resilience during the pandemic further solidified Fiji’s reputation as an outsourcing destination.
While other countries faced operational disruptions, Fiji remained functional, attracting global attention.
Kamikamica emphasized that BPO’s continued momentum is key to economic diversification, offering sustainable employment opportunities for Fiji’s skilled workforce and reducing reliance on traditional industries.
Fiji as a strategic outsourcing destination
Fiji showcased its growing outsourcing capabilities at the LeadsCon exhibition and conference 2025 that happened in Las Vegas, United States, a major performance marketing event.
Outsource Fiji, alongside Packleader BPO and Duco Consultancy, represented the country to highlight its competitive advantages.
President Morika Hunter of Outsource Fiji described the organization as more than a beautiful island nation, emphasizing its skilled workforce and service culture shaped by decades of tourism experience.
The delegation aimed to position Fiji as an offshore destination offering more than cost savings by promoting its agility and alignment with U.S. business expectations.
Duco Consultancy CEO Chandan Ohri underscored Fiji’s potential in IT services, noting its ability to meet growing global demand with high-quality solutions. Packleader BPO co-founder Scott Hancox highlighted Fiji’s time zone advantage, enabling 24-hour operations that fill night shifts while creating employment opportunities for locals.
