NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA — Fiji is making a strategic push to secure Australian outsourcing contracts, leveraging its skilled workforce and cultural ties at the Contact Center Symposium 2025 in New South Wales. 

Outsource Fiji is leading the charge, pitching a cost-effective, high-quality nearshore alternative for contact centers and beyond.

Fiji positions itself as nearshore outsourcing hub for Australia

Fiji is capitalizing on its competitive advantages, which are English proficiency, time zone compatibility, and cultural familiarity, to attract Australian businesses seeking outsourcing solutions. 

Outsource Fiji’s Executive Director, Josefa Wivou, emphasized that these factors make the country an ideal partner for customer service operations, reducing costs while maintaining service quality.

The delegation is targeting over 110 top Australian contact center and customer experience firms at the symposium, aiming to shift perceptions of Fiji beyond traditional business process outsourcing (BPO). 

With closed-door discussions in Chatham House Rules, industry leaders are engaging in candid talks about long-term partnerships that could drive employment growth in Fiji’s specialized sectors.

Expanding beyond call centers into high-value outsourcing

Outsource Fiji is pushing for diversification into knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) and IT services. Wivou highlighted plans to upskill local talent to handle complex back-office functions, tech support, and analytics, creating higher-value jobs and sector resilience.

The three-day summit serves as a platform to showcase Fiji’s evolving capabilities, with a focus on sustainable partnerships. 

Fiji’s BPO foray into KPO is meant to help the country diversify KPO from low-margin BPO work and provide Australian firms with a scalable and low-cost talent pool for high-level outsourcing needs.

The push into high-value services signals a long-term vision to transform its outsourcing industry and economy, providing services across nations.
