Infosys BPM integrates AI agents to automate invoice processing

BENGALURU, INDIA — Infosys BPM has integrated AI-driven agents into its Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution, automating invoice processing to boost efficiency and accuracy.
Developed in collaboration with Americana Restaurants, the new system leverages Infosys Topaz and Microsoft’s AI stack, reducing manual work and accelerating financial operations.

According to the company, this integration enhances processing speed while reducing errors—a critical advancement for high-volume enterprises.
Americana Restaurants, a key development partner, reported significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy after implementation. Harsh Bansal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Americana, noted that the AI agents cut manual dependencies, allowing faster, more intelligent invoice handling.
“With AI-powered Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud, we have made invoice processing faster, enhanced accuracy and improved efficiency,” Bansal said.
This aligns with broader industry trends, as 38% of U.S. CFOs already use AI in accounts payable processes, with 43% more exploring adoption, per a PYMNTS Intelligence and Coupa collaboration.
AI adoption in AP signals shift toward autonomous finance
The move toward AI-powered AP solutions reflects a growing demand for automation in financial operations. Fintech recently expanded its automated invoice processing to cover all B2B transactions, promising cost savings and compliance benefits.
Similarly, Venn reported a 70% reduction in vendor payment times during early testing, underscoring AI’s transformative potential.
Infosys’ solution embeds multi-agent AI frameworks that autonomously manage approvals and data entry to help clients efficiently. Anantha Radhakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Infosys BPM, emphasized its adaptability, positioning it as a scalable tool for global enterprises.
“By integrating Infosys Topaz with a purpose-built multi-agent framework, along with Microsoft’s AI stack, we’ve developed a solution that is autonomous by design, responsive to change, and built to evolve,” said Radharkrishnan.
As businesses increasingly prioritize AI-driven finance tools, solutions like Infosys’ cloud-based AP system are set to redefine back-office efficiency.
