Select VoiceCom equips Cebu schools with tech, supplies in CSR push

CEBU, PHILIPPINES — Select VoiceCom, an Outsource Accelerator (OA) Source Partner, has transformed classrooms across Cebu through its 2025 Back-to-School Donation Drive, delivering computers and essential supplies to four under-resourced elementary schools.
The business process outsourcing (BPO) firm’s initiative directly addresses educational gaps in Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu City, where principals report critical needs for technology and learning materials.
Bridging the educational technology gap in Cebu
Select VoiceCom’s donation of nine desktop computer sets is rebuilding ICT capabilities in schools still recovering from Typhoon Odette’s damage.
At Buyong Elementary School, where most computers were non-functional, three new devices will restore technology classes for 4th to 6th graders, a lifeline for digital literacy.
“We’re hoping this will be the beginning of our partnership,” said Fevilyn Limbaga, Master Teacher I and ICT Coordinator, signaling hopes for sustained support.
The tech infusion complements sets of notebooks, pencils, and other basics distributed to 200 students at Barrio Luz Elementary School and other schools.
Principal Nelson Badana emphasized how these tangible resources boost morale.
“We believe that education is the foundation of a better future. While there are still a lot of facilities to improve in Barrio Luz Elementary School, we’re thankful to stakeholders for their donations in kind. This will go a long way. We’re thankful to SVC for their time and donations and for choosing our school. This will really encourage our students and get them excited to go to school,” Badana said.
Such interventions prove particularly valuable in regions where families struggle to afford supplies.
Holistic CSR support for school communities
Beyond academics, Select VoiceCom addressed health and infrastructure needs through multipurpose tables and clinic supplies, including first-aid kits and sanitary pads.
The four donated tables will serve dual purposes in libraries and faculty rooms at recipient schools, maximizing limited space.
Agus Elementary Principal Dra. Grace Gee noted the computers’ transformative potential, saying, “These computers will go a long way in helping our students become more familiar with technology, which is now a key part of education. We are deeply grateful to Select VoiceCom for choosing our school.”
The company’s onsite turnover events fostered direct engagement between donors, educators, and pupils. This hands-on approach ensures contributions meet specific needs, from replacing typhoon-damaged equipment to providing hygiene products often overlooked in school donations.
By tackling both educational tools and facility gaps, Select VoiceCom demonstrates how targeted corporate social responsibility (CSR) can create ripple effects across communities.
Setting a standard for social impact in outsourcing
Select VoiceCom’s initiative exemplifies how the outsourcing industry can transcend profit-driven goals to tackle societal challenges.
The company’s focus on both education and health needs aligns well with the OA Outsourcing Impact Review (OIR) 2025, an annual report that highlights the social impact efforts and CSR programs of outsourcing companies around the world.
Outsource Accelerator is currently accepting nominations for this year’s OIR. All outsourcing companies are encouraged to nominate their CSR projects through this link.
