BRQ Digital Solutions acquires weme to expand digital services
São Paulo, Brazil — BRQ Digital Solutions, a Brazilian technology company specializing in digital transformation, has acquired weme, a design studio focused on digital products.
While the transaction value was undisclosed, this marks BRQ’s return to mergers and acquisitions after three years, aiming to strengthen its digital services for large companies and expand its presence in generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Expanding market reach with generative AI
The merger aims to unlock new opportunities by integrating BRQ’s AI-driven solutions, such as its Fusion platform and investment AI agents, with weme’s design-centric approach.
BRQ recently secured R$100 million (US$20 million) in financing from BNDES to accelerate product development across sectors like finance, healthcare, energy, and telecom.
“This investment is being fully invested in the evolution of our platform. We’ve accomplished a lot, but we knew we needed to raise the bar a bit to be ready for this new game with GenIA,” said BRQ CEO Rodrigo Frizzi.
This acquisition helps BRQ to consolidate its role as a leading digital transformation enabler, combining technology, design, and AI innovation to create lasting business impact.
Strengthening design and AI expertise
BRQ, founded in 1993 and operating with a workforce of over 3,000 employees, provides end-to-end digital projects, including strategic consulting, software development, AI, and automation. Its operations span Brazil and the United States, where 15% of its revenue is generated outside Brazil, totaling R$582 million (US$ $116.4 million) in 2024.
Frizzi highlighted that the acquisition of weme is to “elevate our center of excellence in design and experience,” complementing BRQ’s technological and execution capabilities with weme’s strategic design and early-stage business challenge expertise.
weme, meanwhile, brings a team of over 100 professionals with extensive experience in service design, UX/UI, and digital product development.
Founded in 2017, weme operates independently under its founding partners Carolina Kia, Wagner Foschini, and CEO Maurício Bueno. The company serves more than 200 clients, predominantly in the financial sector, accounting for 70% of its business, with key clients including BTG Pactual and Visa.
weme also has an international presence with projects across Latin America and Europe, including an office in Lisbon.
