NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, and DUBLIN, IRELAND — In a strategic move to expand its European presence, global technology provider Presidio has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Ergo, an Ireland-based IT solutions firm.

According to its press release, Presidio notes that the acquisition, expected to be finalized by year-end 2025, pending regulatory approvals, will provide deepened expertise in cloud, security, and digital transformation services across Ireland and the United Kingdom.

“This will enhance our capabilities in a key market, add proven leadership and expertise, and position us to deliver even greater value to clients across the region,” noted Bob Cagnazzi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Presidio.

Expansion strengthens Presidio’s European operations

Presidio is a technology services company with over forty years of experience in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, helping customers navigate the modern technology landscape.

The professional teams at the firm create tailored applications and managed services that enable cost optimization and business strategic realization for global businesses.

This strategic expansion enhances Ergo’s already global presence, which positions the firm as a key player in the region. Ergo, headquartered in Ireland, has established a reputation as a reliable provider of managed services, cloud services, and IT resourcing, serving mostly the Irish market over the last 30 years.

A client satisfaction score of 91, along with referrals and a presence on four continents, shows that the firm has proven local knowledge that aligns well with Presidio’s bigger goals.

Strategic tech-market expansion for UK reach

The acquisition also marks a fundamental shift in Presidio’s position in the European market, as it integrates its current operations with an already established local provider.

“What excites me most about joining Presidio is that they [recognize] what made us successful: our people, our client relationships, and our commitment to the Irish technology community,” said Paul McCann, CEO of Ergo.

“Being a part of Presidio will give us the resources and scale to accelerate our growth while maintaining the culture and client-first approach that defines us. This is about taking what works and making it even stronger,” he added.

The move will directly lead to geographic coverage of Presidio and enhance its local delivery capacity in Ireland and the UK.

This expansion is also specifically targeted at a critical technology hub. The combined force of Presidio and Ergo aims to become a leading technology services provider for the Irish market, catering to local businesses, the public sector, and the numerous multinational firms that utilize Ireland as their European base. The enhanced scale and local expertise are designed to serve this diverse and strategic clientele better.

Combined expertise enhances cloud and AI services

Beyond geographic growth, the move unites complementary service portfolios to create a more comprehensive offering for clients.

Presidio’s global strengths in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation will be integrated with Ergo’s specialized capabilities in cloud-smart managed services and IT resourcing.

The acquisition is clearly explained as a blend of talent and culture. The most prevalent technical expertise, the latest technology, and the uniformity of next-generation technology, including cloud and AI, which will follow the acquisition, are likely to accelerate the innovation process.

As Senior Vice President, Europe and Asia Pacific of Presidio, Brid Graham concludes, “Together we’ll be a leading technology services and solutions provider in the Irish market with the talent and scale to better serve local and public sector clients and the hundreds of multinational firms that have chosen Ireland as their European base.”

Both companies have a similar focus on customers and high-quality operations, so the merger will create more growth opportunities for employees and customers by building on Presidio’s existing customer relationships and community-focused approach, along with the wide range of resources from both Presidio and Ergo.
