Ghana plans to create 100,000 new outsourcing jobs by 2030

ACCRA, GHANA — Ghana has launched an ambitious strategy to create 100,000 international-facing jobs in its outsourcing sector by 2030, aiming to position the country as a leading hub for global business services, according to a report from News Ghana.
The initiative, launched by the Business Outsourcing Services Association Ghana (BOSAG) at the Accra Digital Centre, targets young Ghanaians while building on three years of collaboration among local and international outsourcing leaders.
Ghana launches national outsourcing job creation plan
The initiative focuses on five strategic pillars to transform Ghana’s digital economy, including raising international visibility, enhancing skills development, promoting local sector capabilities, advancing policy advocacy, and enabling sector research and knowledge sharing.
David Gowu, BOSAG’s Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the plan’s development, noting that initial discussions on how Ghana could compete globally in outsourcing and digital services have now translated into concrete action.
Government officials strongly supported the program. Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, highlighted that the plan goes beyond mere numerical targets, representing a commitment to young people and to inclusive growth that capitalizes on Ghana’s digital infrastructure, skilled workforce, and strategic location.
To accelerate skills development, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations partnered with global tech companies including Huawei, MTN, Amazon Web Services, and Oracle.
Bishop Samuel Antwi-Gyekyi, representing the Minister, noted that these partnerships would deliver specialized training modules to ensure talent readiness.
Global collaboration, strategic governance for sector growth
International experts and industry leaders, including David Rumble from the United Kingdom and Rolana Rashwan from Egypt, attended the launch to share global best practices.
Development partners like GIZ Ghana and initiatives such as Generation Ghana’s GROW program demonstrated how local talent is being equipped for international markets.
The event also marked the swearing-in of the BOSAG Governing Council and Advisory Board, which will guide strategic direction and ensure accountability.
With its combination of policy support, international partnerships, and a focus on innovation, Ghana’s outsourcing sector appears poised for rapid growth. If effectively implemented, the plan could not only create tens of thousands of jobs but also position Ghana as a model for Africa’s digital economy.
By aligning talent development, infrastructure, and policy, the country is leveraging its strategic location and competitive workforce to capture a significant share of the global outsourcing market, signaling a promising future for both investors and young professionals.
