HCLTech expands Canadian footprint with new Calgary office

ALBERTA, CANADA — HCLTech, a global technology firm, has inaugurated a new office in Calgary, Alberta, as part of a strategic partnership with Invest Alberta.
The expansion strengthens the company’s commitment to fostering technology collaboration and innovation within the province and across Canada.
“The opening of our Calgary office marks an important step in expanding our presence in Western Canada and advancing the digital transformation journeys of our clients,” said Dave Chopra, Executive Vice President (EVP) and Canada Country Head, HCLTech.
HCLTech ranked #12 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
Fifth Indian IT firm lands in Calgary
The Calgary office in the Ampersand complex will serve as a client co-innovation and delivery center.
The expansion extends the company’s existing operations in the country, which include delivery and innovation centers in Mississauga, Moncton, and Vancouver that serve over 50 leading businesses in Canada.
“This is the fifth Indian IT company that IAC has helped land in Calgary. We are very proud of this milestone, as it demonstrates Alberta’s growing appeal in the global tech sector,” said Rick Christiaanse, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Invest Alberta.
This growth is part of a long-term vision to establish employment in the area and benefit Alberta’s economy. It begins with the opening at the Annual Year-End Reception at HCLTech, which includes an intention to invest directly in the overall Canadian technology ecosystem and be part of it.
Invest Alberta partnership boosts tech investment
One of the core principles of HCLTech Calgary is that of partnerships that depend on one another to spur technological progress.
Invest Alberta is a partnership with which the company has signed a memorandum of understanding to further its provincial engagement and collaboration with the local businesses, educational organizations, and government stakeholders.
The initiative itself is a sign of the increasing attractiveness of Alberta to the international technology industry, as well as a structured platform for co-innovation with the ever-growing Base of technology in the region, as both HCLTech and the Invest Alberta administration noted.
As Chopra concludes, “As we deepen our collaboration with Invest Alberta and accelerate our focus on AI, cybersecurity, and data, we see tremendous opportunity to co-innovate with the region’s growing technology community.”
