Accenture, Anthropic partner to train 30K staff on Claude AI

DUBLIN, IRELAND, and CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — In a major push to scale enterprise artificial intelligence (AI), global professional services firm Accenture and AI developer Anthropic announced the formation of a dedicated business group and a plan to train approximately 30,000 professionals to drive adoption of Anthropic’s Claude AI models.
“This exciting expansion of our partnership with Anthropic will help our clients accelerate the shift from experimenting with AI to using it as a catalyst for reinvention across the enterprise,” said Julie Sweet, Chair and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Accenture.
Accenture, Anthropic deepen global AI partnership
Accenture is a global professional services company with approximately 779,000 employees delivering digital transformation, AI integration, and strategic reinvention to over 9,000 clients worldwide, generating annual revenues in the tens of billions.
This established position at the intersection of technology and human ingenuity naturally intersects with the pioneering work of newer AI-focused entities. The company ranked #2 in OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s 500 top outsourcing companies.
Among them, Anthropic operates as a public benefit corporation dedicated to building reliable and steerable frontier AI systems, grounding its approach in a methodical safety science framework pursued by an interdisciplinary team.
The company’s unique governance structure, which includes a long-term benefit trust, underscores its foundational commitment to developing advanced AI for the long-term benefit of humanity amidst this rapidly evolving landscape.
Training 30,000 Accenture staff on Claude AI
The partnership’s centerpiece is the creation of the Accenture Anthropic Business Group, backed by a massive investment in human capital. Accenture will train approximately 30,000 of its professionals on Anthropic’s Claude models and Claude Code.
This scale directly addresses a primary barrier to implementation: enterprise risk and capability gaps. Instead of clients building expertise internally from scratch, they gain immediate access to a pre-built, global bench of experts.
The move positions Accenture as a premier AI partner for coding with Claude Code, which will be made available to tens of thousands of its developers.
As Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of Anthropic, notes, “Our new partnership means that tens of thousands of Accenture developers will be using Claude Code, making this our largest ever deployment—and the new Accenture Anthropic Business Group will help enterprise clients use our smartest AI models to make major productivity gains.”
AI solutions for regulated sectors worldwide
The alliance is first attacking complicated, regulated markets, such as financial services, life sciences, healthcare, and the public sector.
These industries face a twofold challenge: upgrading their legacy systems while complying with strict security and compliance requirements.
The joint venture intends to offer customized solutions by combining Anthropic’s technical AI solutions with Accenture’s regulatory and industry expertise.
Claude will process complex documents for automated compliance in the financial services sector. In health and life sciences, it will help researchers query datasets and streamline clinical trials.
In the public sector, it revolves around designing AI agents that assist citizens in navigating services and also ensure data privacy.
This industry-first model means that solutions are designed to include governance throughout, utilizing a shared commitment to responsible AI between Accenture and Anthropic, with AI governance expertise from Accenture and constitutional AI principles from Anthropic.
“AI is changing how almost everyone works, and enterprises need both cutting-edge AI and trusted expertise to deploy it at scale. Accenture brings deep enterprise transformation experience, and Anthropic brings the most capable models,” Amodei said.
Claude Code offering helps CIOs scale AI development
Accenture and Anthropic are also launching a specific joint offering for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) to measure value and scale AI-powered software development across organizations.
This product puts Claude Code at the center of the development lifecycle, augmented by Accenture’s frameworks for measuring productivity ROI, redesigning workflows, and managing change.
The companies further plan to embed Claude within Accenture’s global network of Innovation Hubs and establish a dedicated Claude Center of Excellence to co-create new enterprise offerings.
