HCLTech taps Sandeep Saxena as Chief Growth Officer for India, MEA

NOIDA, INDIA — Indian IT services provider HCLTech has appointed company veteran Sandeep Saxena as its Chief Growth Officer for key emerging markets.
The strategic move aims to accelerate the company’s expansion in India, the Middle East, and Africa (MEA) by leveraging its global digital transformation expertise to capture rising regional demand.
Leveraging India’s domestic digital boom
Business World reports that India is specifically mentioned by the firm as one of the largest opportunities, given its status as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
This local emphasis is not narrow, but the international size and the full portfolio of services of HCLTech are deployed to satisfy the local enterprise’s need for next-generation technologies.
In addition, this strategy aligns with national efforts to collaborate with the government. According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) C Vijayakumar, the company has been determined to serve the Indian government via the Digital India and Viksit Bharat programs, which include major digital transformation initiatives.
This is what makes HCLTech not merely a participant in the market but a strategic facilitator of the country’s overall digital economy ambitions.
The company ranked #12 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies. The 2026 edition of the OA500 is expected to be released in March.
Global‑local growth strategy for India and MEA
The arrival of a veteran insider and highly experienced individual in overseas operations to spearhead expansion in these two areas underpins a strategy to apply global experience to local market dynamics.
Saxena has close to 30 years of experience with HCLTech, characterized by a record of rapidly expanding the business and the company’s leadership in the European market and across various sectors of the industry, including retail, logistics, and energy.
This background is intended to be directly transplanted to structure growth in newer markets. The mandate of Saxena shall be to translate that global capability into local and effective solutions.
“I am honored to spearhead HCLTech’s growth agenda across strategic markets, including India,” Saxena notes.
As he has put it, his approach focuses on providing innovative, future-ready solutions that deliver quantifiable business outcomes for clients in India and the MEA.
This move means that HCLTech considers these geographically differentiated markets as linked under a growth strategy that will depend on relocating global delivery capability and on-the-ground leadership to promote expansion.
