Wipro launches AI-powered operating model for enterprise functions

BENGALURU, INDIA — Wipro is launching a new AI-powered operating model that combines consulting, artificial intelligence (AI) and enterprise transformation services, as the Indian IT services major sharpens its focus on helping global companies move beyond stalled digital initiatives and fragmented consulting engagements.

The new model is designed to provide complete end-to-end tracking across four core enterprise functions — People & Change, Supply Chain & Operations, Finance Transformation, and Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience — and aims to better connect boardroom strategy with scaled execution.

Consulting-led AI model links strategy and execution

Wipro said the operating model positions consulting as the starting point of transformation, with advisory teams working closely with senior executives to define AI strategy, future-state operating models and outcome-based road maps.

The company said this approach is intended to address a growing disconnect between strategic planning and execution as enterprises struggle to modernize legacy operations.

“Enterprises today are struggling to modernize operations amid outdated models and stalled transformation efforts, with AI hype that isn’t translating into results and consulting-to-execution journeys that remain fragmented and slow,” said Amit Kumar, managing partner and global head of consulting at Wipro.

By combining functional consulting with business process services, Kumar said Wipro can offer “a persona-based, end-to-end enterprise transformation strategy anchored in a functional context,” adding that the approach allows clients “to realize measurable value faster and generate real impact from AI initiatives.”

AI embedded from design to delivery with Wipro Intelligence

Under the model, Wipro Consulting teams will design human-centric, AI-powered operating models and re-engineered processes that are built for execution rather than conceptual pilots.

Delivery will be supported by the Wipro Intelligence suite of AI-powered platforms, which the company said will be used across solution design, deployment and ongoing optimization.

Wipro’s business process services teams will then deploy AI-enabled automation, predictive insights and continuous optimization across operations, enabling what the company described as systems that “continuously learn and improve.”

“Reimagining business processes in the age of AI is core to our clients’ enterprise business transformation strategy,” said Jasjit Singh Kang, managing partner and global head of business process services at Wipro.

“AI-embedded operations, underpinned by deeply contextual solutions, are the future of the intelligence-driven enterprise,” Singh Kang added.

The launch comes as the global outsourcing industry currently experiences increased pressure to ascend its value chain as clients now require results instead of headcount-based agreements.

As AI reshapes traditional delivery models, service providers are being pushed to integrate consulting, technology and operations more tightly.

Wipro’s move reflects a broader industry shift toward consulting-led, AI-driven services — a transition that could redefine how outsourcing firms compete as enterprises seek partners capable of delivering measurable impact, not just digital promises.

Wipro was previously ranked #3 in the OA500 2025, an objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies. The 2026 edition of the OA500 is expected to be released in March.
