Global healthcare BPO to hit $425Bn by 2026: Research and Markets

DUBLIN, IRELAND — The global healthcare business process outsourcing (BPO) market is projected to surge to US$424.76 billion in 2026 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.7%, up from US$370.2 billion in 2025, fueled by rising operational complexities and an increasing reliance on outsourced healthcare services, according to a recent report from Research and Markets

The movement reflects a wider range of efficiency-based health management operations and cost-controlled systems worldwide.

Key drivers of healthcare BPO market growth

The report shows that the healthcare BPO sector is experiencing rapid growth, with the market expected to reach US$734.86 billion by 2030.

“The growth in the forecast period can be attributed to growing future dependence on outsourced healthcare solutions, rising digital healthcare transformation initiatives, increasing focus on efficiency driven healthcare operations, strengthening emphasis on cost controlled healthcare systems, [and] expanding demand for scalable healthcare support ecosystems,” the report stated.

A significant driver of market expansion is clinical process outsourcing, which involves administrative healthcare work requiring clinical expertise.

According to the report, the surge in clinical trials has accelerated demand.

“Specifically, 476,626 clinical trials have been registered, with 61,504 trials already completed,” the report said, marking an increase from the previous year.

Healthcare providers are increasingly turning to outsourcing partners to manage these complex workflows efficiently.

AI and automation transform healthcare BPO

The top companies in the industry utilize advanced digital solutions, which include generative AI (GenAI) and process automation to improve their operational efficiency. For instance, Cognizant Technology Solutions introduced its healthcare large language model (LLM) solutions through a partnership with Google Cloud in June 2024.

The solutions automate workflows such as appeals management, contract lifecycle management, and marketing content generation.

According to the report, these tools aim to enhance efficiency and patient experience in healthcare delivery, while also reducing manual errors and ensuring compliance with complex healthcare regulations.

The industry continues to change through both investments and acquisitions that are currently taking place. According to the study, the major companies that control the market include Accenture, Infosys BPM, WNS, EXL, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, and Genpact.

As the healthcare BPO market evolves, it is becoming a strategic hub for efficiency and innovation in healthcare delivery.

The combination of clinical outsourcing, AI-driven solutions, and worldwide expansion demonstrates a fundamental trend: healthcare organizations now depend on expert service providers to improve their operational efficiency, reduce costs, and handle their expanding international patient population.
